The first author in the Book of Mormon was named Nephi. He wrote 18 chapters quoting or paraphrasing Isaiah. Nephi's Isaiah is an extraordinary analysis of the reason Nephi included the Isaiah quotes in his works, and the message he intended for us. This book is a tour through prophecies directly speaking to the latter-days in which we live.
Sometimes alarming, sometimes comforting, always informing; this bold discussion of Nephi's meanings is unlike anything you have read on the subject before.
This is the second book by Denver C. Snuffer, Jr., and is a companion to his earlier book, The Second Comforter Conversing With the Lord Through the Veil.
It not only interprets Nephi's writings and reasons, it also gives you a new method for your own scripture study. After you read this book you will never view the scriptures the same.

Nephi Isaiah edition by Denver C Snuffer Jr Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
A fair booi
A very insightful and accurate commentary on the Isaiah chapters in the Book of Mormon. The author brings out an interpretation that gives greater applicability to our modern church and society. One need only look around and notice our current situation to verify the many forthright assertions made in this book.
This was quite aggravating for me to read and now I am gun-shy to pick up another one of Denver's books. I have read three of his books, all of which I have liked or loved. I found it this one to be very repetitive with too many unnecessary footnotes. I have limited time with which to search the scriptures, and I feel most of this book was a waste of my time. It feels most of the time that Denver is drawing a veil over his own words and that he is trying to walk in two directions at the same time, maintaining reverence to those who church members have undue reverence for and at the same time suggesting we ought to look at the fruits. In the end it was a very confusing work.
There are nuggets in the book that I did like, foremost was the evidence he offered that Nephi was smarter than we give him credit for. Nephi had a vision and warning about our day he was forbidden to write, but finding that others knew and wrote about them, he used the Isaiah material to reveal warnings to us through the use of Isaiah who also saw our day, and that Nephi "likened" the words, or applied his own meaning to them for us; and Nephi says he did as much.
I also found his explanation of the way the time of the Gentiles will end (is ending), his explanation on receiving the Holy Ghost and the difference between it and our emotions.
I am opposed to both Republican's a Democrats, but I found one of his footnote remarks to have strange doctrine. He said he was surprised at a church which taught liberality and sharing that more members were not Democrat and referenced Hugh Nibley's work Approaching Zion which I haven't read. I don't know if he was asserting between the lines that there was too much group-think and sameness among Latter-Day Saints, but implying that we ought to use the coercive force of government to take property away from individuals and give, in that way, to the poor is absurd and benefits neither the "giver" or receiver militates against the fundamental doctrine of agency, not that Republicans are any better, except in perception. This is probably undue attention to such a small footnote.

Update 4/26/2015
One of the keys to reading Denver's works is this book. You can read your idols into it, you can take the light and knowledge that you've gained and be offended by it because of it's seeming praise of a newly dead form. But in my latest estimation, Denver uses the examples to point out issues that we are dealing with in our own church, but relies on the light to dawn on the reader, rather than coming out and saying what should be obvious.
I got the book quickly and find it fantastic. A great understanding to Isaiah throug the teaching of Nephi. Couldn't be more pleased
Great insights on why Nephi chose to incorporate and include so much of the writings of Isaiah into his record that he took the pain staking time to etch into golden plates. This book has strengthened my testimony in Christ and has helped me better comprehend how the Spirit of a God influences and speaks to each of us uniquely and individually.
If you've read Second Comforter, you should definitely also read this book. It is merely a continuation of that book.
Love it, other then Denver's Second Comforter, one if the best of his books i have read, but then i have read the Book of Mormon over 80 times, and had already observed most of what the explains. Denver Snuffer gift wraps and puts the icing on the cake, to what the Spirit has been showing me slowly, over the past 40 plus years.
I always enjoy getting Snuffer's perspective. He has a way of opening up the scriptures that I rarely get from other authors.
The insights that Nephi offers latter-day readers is phenomenal. This book opens up ways to read Nephi's Isaiah and apply it to our day!
